Author Guidelines

The articles published by Mi must propose ideas that contribute to improving existing knowledge in the field of international management. Mi publishes various types of contributions:

  • Articles: empirical, theoretical, or methodological articles present a specific management issue or problem at the international level.
  • Research notes: research notes are essentially devoted to the presentation of theoretical perspectives, conceptual frameworks, and research methods and results.
  • Reading notes: reading notes are critical presentations of recent publications.
  • Book reviews: these reviews provide summaries of research work that has been presented in recent books.

Articles and research notes are peer-reviewed in accordance with the principles, the rules, and the practices of double anonymization.

Reading notes and book reviews or essays are evaluated by the editorial team.

Publications – Some useful advice

Please include two versions of the submission in your email: one version with a cover page containing all the author’s scientific information as well as the author’s contact information and possible acknowledgements, and one version with a cover page without any identification information. These two files must be named UNBLINDED and BLINDED respectively.

In the blinded file, there should be no information making it possible to identify authors. The anonymity of the electronic properties of the BLINDED file must also be ensured. In addition, you must indicate in your email the field of interest and the topic of your submission.

Length and formatting of submissions

Articles must not exceed 60,000 characters (including spaces) or 30 pages (including references – not including tables, figures, and appendices), and they must be double-spaced in US letter format (215.9 × 279.4 mm) with 12-point font.

Research notes must not exceed 60,000 characters (including spaces) or 30 pages (including references – not including tables, figures, and appendices), and they must be double-spaced in US letter format (215.9 × 279.4 mm) with 12-point font.

Reading notes must not exceed 20,000 characters (including spaces) or 10 pages (including references), and they must be double-spaced in US letter format (215.9 × 279.4 mm) with 12-point font.

Book reviews must not exceed 10,000 characters (including spaces) or 5 pages (including references), and they must be double-spaced in US letter format (215.9 × 279.4 mm) with 12-point font.

Author Information

The names of the authors of a manuscript must appear on the first page in the order preferred for publication.

Each name must be accompanied by the following:

  • Title;
  • All affiliations;
  • Email address.

Title of the manuscript

The title must be short, concise, and precise.

Abstract

Each article and research note must include an abstract that is structured around the following:

  • Presentation of the research question or objective;
  • Design, methodology or approach;
  • Research results and contribution.

The maximum length of an abstract is 120 words.

Keywords

A maximum of 6 keywords may be used.

Acknowledgements

Acknowledgements are presented on the first page and must include the names of any persons who have contributed to the writing or to the improvement of manuscripts as well as references to any research fund that has been used.

Headings and subheadings

They must be short and not contain any form of numbering (I, II, A, B, etc.).

Headings and subheading levels must be clearly identified in Word. The hierarchy of these levels must be indicated as follows in submissions:

  • Heading 1: 14 points, centered, bold;
  • Heading 2: 12 points, small capitals, bold;
  • Heading 3: 12 points, bold;
  • Heading 4: 12 points, italics.

Tables, graphics, organigrams, maps

They are numbered and presented in a separate document. The placement of tables, figures, graphics, organigrams, diagrams, images, and other such elements must be clearly indicated in the article.

  • Tables, figures, graphics, organigrams, diagrams, and images must have a title and be clearly numbered, and they cannot be submitted in an image format.
  • Images must be submitted in high resolution in an AI, EPS, JPEG, BMP, or TIF format.
  • Graphics, figures, diagrams, and organigrams that are from online software applications must be submitted in a PDF file.

Quotations

If they are longer than five lines, they must be presented as block quotations that are indented five spaces and not put in quotation marks. Quotations in the body of the text must be presented in italics, and they must be put in quotation marks.

Citations

In the text:

  • 1 author: Author, date (Dupont, 2017) or (Dupont, 2017; Smith, 2019; Faucher, 2020) or (Dupont, 2017, p.10)
  • 2 authors: Author 1 & Author 2, date (Dupont & Smith, 2013) or (Dupont & Smith 2012; Dupont 2010)
  • 3 authors or more: Author 1 et al., date (Dupont et al., 2012)

Reference list

The APA format is required:

Journal article

Author, A., Author, B. and Author, C. (year). Title of the article. Title of the periodical, volume(issue), xxx-yyy. DOI

Book

Author, A., Author, B. and Author, C. (year). Title of the book. Location of Publisher: Name of Publisher.

Authors of articles must identify the copyright holder and make a written request to the copyright holder for authorization. Authors must conserve the written authorization that they have obtained, and they must ensure that it has no limit, for their published articles will continue to be publicly accessible over time.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
